Energy profiler
N95 and Watt consumption:

LIGHT
0.35W with light enabled
0.15 - 0.20 W when light disabled, but displays shows normal information
0.03W (!) when light disabled and default nokia screen-saver enabled (dark display with datum and clocks only)

Display light (in dark place/outside on sun)
very low - 0.2W/0.31W
low - 0.28/0.32
medium - 0.31/0.35
high - 0.42/0.49
very high - 0.45/0.65W

BLUETOOTH enabled but no transfer of data 0.35 - 0.36W (meaning disabled bluetooth will not help you)

WIFI enabled
when data transfer up to 2W
when not transfering data 0.40W (0.35W without wifi enabled, so wifi without data transfer consumes 0.05W)

CALLING up to 1.8 - 2.2W

ACCELEROMETERS disabled saves around 0.02W

If in off-line mode (the GSM is shut down) it consumes approx the same as if in normal mode. You can save only about 0.02W in good signal area.

EDGE - 1.5W while data transfer

2D game, 2D with acclerometers and 3D games surprisingly consumed same amount of energy - 1W when playing, and 0.05 more Watt (total 0.4, while normal is 0.35W) when running, but not directly in game.

Apps running sms/contacts/profiles/settings/apps folder opened make difference of 0.01W

Conclusion:

Disabled GSM, Bluetooth or acclerometers will not save you much energy.

If you pause game and leave it, or if you open multiple windows in symbian it consumes just a little bit more Watts, its not big deal.

On other hand calling, using wifi or edge consumes a lot. Also you should disable wifi even if you dont transfer data, while you don't have to disable bluetooth while not transfering. Then the most important for you is to set your brightness to medium possition and enable your default nokia screensaver which save a lot energy when you dont use your phone.

one great way is best profiles by i don't know what software provider
and i set my phone to automatically switch to offline profile during workweeks and not in the weekend. Also you can change to a certain profile when you enter a certain area (this is done by identifying network cell which serves that area)

What is the point me having a N82 if I can't keep running the apps that I want? I might as well send it back and get a nokia 1100 or something.*lol*

Quitting applications may or may not do much (unless these applications are actually doing work, maintaining a network connection, etc).

For instance, quitting VoIP software like Fring might be useful, but quitting the Nokia Geotagger would not be (it does not maintain GPS fix or other connections while sitting idle in the background).

Some better tips:
* Turn off keypad tones (Settings -> General -> Personalization -> Tones -> Keypad Tones); otherwise every time you push a key, a beep is emitted.
* Turn off automatic WLAN scanning (Settings -> Connection -> Wireless LAN -> Show WLAN availability: Never). It will still perform scans every time you return to the idle screen, or when you select the last line of your idle screen display.
* Turn WLAN trasmit level to the lowest setting, 4mW (Settings -> Connection -> Wireless LAN -> Options -> Advanced Settings -> Continue Anyway?: Yes -> Automatic Configuration: Disabled -> TX power level: 4mW). A lot of people choose higher settings believing that this will give a better WLAN connection; in reality this is not always so. (Devices tend to over-saturate the RF channel, thus actually degrading wireless performance).
* Do not enable automatic checking/retreival of e-mail; close the e-mail client when you are done reading. (Same with other internet applications, as e.g. the web browser might be told by certain web sites to refresh content every so often..)

Hi!!
Try to make always full charging cycles to your battery. Try not to let it turn off, recharge when it is asking for it

What's your opinion about that "Offline" profile? My Nokia E51 has it. It actually disconnects the mobile from the GSM network does it? I believe it is a powersaver and it is better to use this instead turning off the mobile at night, what do you think?

Don't use dual-mode or umts unless u really need it, turn to gsm-only.

Go to Settings -> Connection -> Packet data and set the packet data connection when needed, not automatically. This way the phone wont be constantly checking if packet data is available, rather than opening it only when really needed.

Dont ever set the "Show WLAN availability" to enabled, serious battery sucker and without no benefit!
