Just flashed.. phone seems snappier - only thing I can see different is auto-rotate is now there, and new share icon on the home screen.
I seem to not be able to send texts now for some reason.. will redownload settings.
Need to put decent task man on there to see how free ram looks now though..

When o when should d owners of d n95-3(US) expect this lovely firmware update?! or is it going to be a forget about you owners of that phone deal once again?! I hope d update comes soon am getting bored with the last firmware… very bored.
Nothing new, just another meaningless update and 15min waste of lifetime while updating.
i did download it its so coOl, one of the new features you get the rotate me option as a basic option without installing any external program its there in display settings ( when you turn on the rotation option you dont have to slide your phone for rotation any more just rotate the phone and your screen will rotate automatically like iphone )

the email client is also enhanced… if you set your original mail client now to gmail for example you can go to any PDF file saved in your phone CV or whatever and click options send via email and your file will be attached in a message asking you to write down the email you will send to if you click on it you can use your phone book if any of your contacts has email stored as detail it will show choose one and click send and the file will be sent !!!!
the previous email client did not has enough advanced customization enables you to set it for gmail but the new one has all outlook advanced options
Two lines (why???)for “Search” and crazzy icon “Share” on my screen. Meaningless autorotate… Its all?
Bad work, guys. Especially for Nokia/Symbian.
Just checked my NSU - It doesn’t show the update, says my 21 whatever is the newest available in the UK - I’ll check it again in a few minutes
I hate this new firmware. Just updated mine and couldn’t reinstall all illegal apps. Even the latest method of signing can not be done with this new v30 firmware.. Read more guys before update. I am looking for someone who could point me on how to reinstall v20. That version is much better with v21 and v30…
I tried to update my Nokia N95. After a while waiting for it to search for updates. Finally it says that my phone is up to date with the v2.0. Where do i get the firmware v3.0? Help me out here. Thanks
Since I upated to v30. The GPS no longer locks. It used to take less than 10 seconds to lock onto a signal. Now it just sits there. Not sure if it locks on eventually buts is definatly more than 10seconds.
I have not had a lock yet after 2 minutes.
On a positive note. The auto rotate is good. It seems to be quicker on menus.
Well it doesn’t have the kastor ui but it does seem a bit quicker through the menus. There is a new theme as well which looks ok other than that i agree with the others not really worth the effort especially if you use lots of unsigned apps.
Why in the world havn’t they fixed that the lists are animated as in the N78!?
my phone can’t be update they say that the v21 is the newest one i’m in france. Maybe that the v30 doesn’t exist for french phone
Na its better so far I think … The only Problem is that it doesnt lock on to a GPS signal… I was sitting outside for 10 minutes waiting for it to lock and it doesnt.. Thats a waste…
Atleast before it was kinda better since you can actually find out where you are and then it will kinda help you get home .. Now its crap since you cant even address a route for it to follow.. awkward…

Still waiting on my NSU to tell me that 30.0.015 is actually in existence. I only firgured out last week that i have a different code on my phone than in that picture. My NSU tells me as of thirty seconds ago that my phone is up to date with 21.0.016, Nokia N95 (65.01) as it says on my phone with *#0000#
I have the same problem as above. The update software keep telling me that the v21 is the latest. Any solutions?
Hi guys! i really enjoy this new update, it RULES!
first of, there’s autorotation without the need to install any aditional apps, wich would drain the battery life… Than you’ve got the animated menus or icons whatever, camera also looks faster after you take a picture… but for me the most significant difference that i’ve noticed, was the increased battery lifetime. anyone else noticed that? I mean before i recharged battery every single day, sometimes more than once a day, now i have the phone without recharging for over one day and it still has all the power bars, and i’m playing with it all the time…
as for the GPS problem, well i haven’t tried it yet, but i’m sure that if you wait a little while longer it will eventually fix a signal. it takes longer to get a fix now probably because you flashed the phone when you updated and all the A-GPS files that usually help get a fix were erased, so until you get the first fix after updating, it takes longer, but after the first fix it should return to work normally as before.
For the guys who still can’t get v30 on your home country, there are ways you can get v30 (like changing your product code), that’s what i did because in my country (Portugal) the current version is still v20.0.0.16 (sucks!!)
Well i’m going to try my GPS (i use TOMTOM) with than i’ll let you know if i can get a fix.

guys i realise the gps is just a bit weird. when i wake up in the morning i set my phone by the window and go into gps data to get a lock. takes about 10 minutes, and then i can close it. till such time i reboot my phone, it will work fine. after reboot back to square one.
guess the best idea is to either try reflashing the firmware, or take it up with nokia
I have just upgraded to this version.
I have no problem with the GPS. After upgrading I restored the backup and everything works. I got all certifies (mail for exceng and Map) restored.
Last time I lost everything (V21), but this time it seems to work.
But I agree not so much new.

Hi guys, well i’ve noticed too that it takes longer to get a GSP fix, but if you wait, eventually you get it. Actually the first time i tried to get a fix after i upgrade it took less than 20 seconds becaused it used AGPS to help get a fix, i got a fix opening the GPS Data app in the tools\connectivity directory and it asked me for an acess point to get the data file wich helps get a fix by telling the sattelites position, then it is easier for the phone to calculate the position. After that e closed the app, then rebooted the phone and tried again this time without help from the AGPS, i gave up before getting a fix because it was taking to long.
So my advice is, whenever you need to get a fix with ASAP, use AGPS though you’ll have to pay the data transfer (only a few KB, and it should be fine if you have a flat data transfer activated in your account), you’ll get a fix in less than 20 seconds, then after getting the first one, you’ll should get the others easier without having to use AGPS.
I have been trying to get this update for my Phone but when I do the update process on the Nokia website or NSU. it does not seem to recognize the new update. Please Help

It can be that there is server address missing or incorrect at GPS settings.
Settings/General/GPS-Navigate/navig-server/server address

I updated my software through nokia software updater to the latest version. My phone now lags when you hit the shortcut keys ie for messages or clock. It also lags to rotate to the sideways screen when i slide my phone. It breaks up the background picture and thinks for about 5 seconds before opening. Any ideas on what the issue is and how to fix it?

hye guys..i’ve tried a million times updating to v30, but still it says my v21.0.016 is the latest..i tries keying in a different product code number, still when updating my phone, v21 is detected as the latest..FYI, i’ve been formatting my phone for 3 times due to the software error..,guess, i really need this v30..
You are not showing a current update because it is only available on the N95-1 and N95-2 versions, which are only in Europe

IF YOU DONT WANT? Just Turn Off your ACTIVE STANBY MODE then its gone.
I just updated my n95-1 3 days ago for 30 minutes.
I noticed good improvement for Start-up speed, camera capture, battery life, etc… Auto rotate(slow no option for setting). GPS its takes me about 2 minutes to locate my position not like before it takes only less than 1 minute.
I installed all my “illegal Apps” just follow same procudure before installing it and it works.
I noticed also the flashing of Volume and Gallary Image Key during standby mode. Once if the cover is open and twice if the cover is close. Maybe its OK:):):):)
Anyway lets check this new update for more days if its really ok hehehehehe
i have the upgrade also on my mobile The GPS didnt work after that with restoring the data backup or without it never found any satlite after that with AGPS or without it.
on the other N95 i had for my brother it worked every thing fine after the upgrade

GPS INFO - IF YOUR GPS IS NOT WORKING
You have to go into
Tools > Settings > General > Positioning
Make sure Assisted GPS, Integrated GPS and Network based is all ticked. Then set the positioning server to ’supl.nokia.com’.
This is IMPORTANT. If the server has another address it wont work quickly, if at all.
