try earlier versions of NSU. the current one is not working with my n95 either, but the previous one (v xxx.14 or something like that) does.

Successfully update 21.0.016 for my 05xxxxx on 26th March 2008, 1700, from NSU.
Be careful to backup all contacts, SMS, and related data. Uninstall all apps installed on your memory card, if you have to.
I got some weird startup whenever I restart my N95 (Installing…). I have to reinstall back all apps installed on my memory card.

I wonder if there are any way for me to get all my apps installed before, in my memory card to run properly, what files to backup?
The only way, I could think of is to reinstall back all apps, you previously use. Otherwise the startup messages (Installing…) will take some time to cancel itself and will hog the CPU. (Backup phone memory to memory card, in Memory utility will work perhaps?)
The icons of user-installed software on memory card, before you upgrade will be gone, and some alphanumeric records left in Apps. Manager.
Only ScreenSnap run properly, even tough, i installed it in memory card.
Imagine if the software you installed in Phone Memory is payware. Please think carefully before you update.
Youtube have problem running for the streaming server settings of my telco, MobiTubia run ok even with 20.0.015. (Maybe it will work fine for wifi Access Point)

Just updated. Not that (unlike other updates), this one erases everything on your phone (not memory card). Make sure you back up the contents before you update. Otherwise, from a quick look, everything looks very similar to the last update.
I just downloaded the firmware and tried youtube for desktop amazingly I was able to play the video for the first time. Yes V21.0.016 is a must for youtube lover. Good job nokia.
Hi, Im from The UK And I downloaded the firmware 20.0.015 to v21.0.016 on My N95 And it Installed Fine. But I Didnt Save Nothing At All Including Contacts, Music, Messages etc Everything Was Deleted It Was Like Buying It Again From The Shop. ADVISE FROM ME MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKED UP EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!

I just assumed it wouldnt delete anything Jokse lol The answer to your question N95 is becouse you got no internet connection from the router or you got on MAC Filtering but i think you using someone eles wireless connection

i update my nokia N95 software at the first time
After installing this update a menu folder for a group of applications disappeared, and then some icons were moved to Applications folder, some were lost (even though some of the lost were “trusted” (signed), and for some other a kind of pseudoapplication instal was created in app manager, to reinstall them. In general I was lucky to (and I recommend you do) keep the installation files for all the applications on the phone to reinstall them. Fortunately, all the settings were (or seem to be) preserved.
Nokia Maps - what a disappointment - I hoped they would fix the problem where backroads disappear with zoom out even if there are no main roads to be shown on the screen there. Even worse - at the “state/province wide” zoom, app is ridiculous to show just some random, unconnected parts of main highways. But it seems at least to scroll a bit faster (still too slow).
Startup time is not noticeably faster. There is still this alloying lag after the startup, when some background processes still start, and menu behaves erratically at that time.
Couldn’t find any info on what is the “Mobile Widget Support”. Does anyone know? This is not Widsets apparently.
Flash Lite - is there any other site then youtube to make use of this? We can now watch videos on “desktop version” of youtube, the video quality is higher, but the usability leaves a lot of room for improvement.
No geotaggging support in the update. This is actually mean for Nokia, they used to say at the Nokia Location Tagger page sth like “We hope in future to make geotagging a seamless experience”, so I hoped they would make this work for older phones, not just N78 and newer… Now it says on the page: “Location tagging functionality has now been productized, and Nokia Location Tagger will not be further developed as standalone application”

I want to update my N95’s software but I’m not sure about the risks. My current OS is V 12.0.013 (19-06-07) and somehow somebody removed the white label under the battery so I don’t have the code which is required in the proces of updating. Now I want to ask two questions:
1. can I do that update with somebody else’s code? My friend has got N95 and can I use his code? What’s gonna happen?
2. What happens with my installed applications? I know it offers me to do backup before updating so is it safe? I have plenty of them on memory card so if it would format my phone memory and without backup many of them wouldn’t work and I should install them again which is not what I want to do.

I’ve just updated, didnt need to put any code in, it just did it. I backed everything up, but some stuff on the memory card hasnt restored. Its not noticeably faster, and i’m struggling connecting the cable in usb mode to my mac. Anyone any ideas?
