Nokia N95 8GB or Nokia N82 ?

I want to change my boring Nokia E60. This phone is limiting my reviews in this website. For example; I can’t write detailed posts about GPS, Camera or Accelerometer applications

So I decided to buy new one. But, I have to make a decision between Nokia N82 and Nokia N95 8GB. There is a pool in the rest of this entry

Your votes are really important for me. Because, I will buy the winner phone =)

{democracy:5}

That would be great to explain your reasons of your selection…

Nokia n95’s screen is much bigger! If you changing from e61i would assume you like a bigger screen

    I have N82, my girlfriend N95-8GB
N82 camera is better, expecially flash, not to mention the more ergonomic way you switch the camera on….just open the sliding cover
besides N95-8GB bigger screen was very comfortable when using it as gps driving the motorbike (on the fuel tank bag) or while watching a film on the ferry on the way from Livorno to Sicily.

but in every day use I think it’s much more comfortable the smaller size of the N82, expecially if you’e a boy and you keep it the pockets
plus I don’t like the sliding keypad (even if the one of N95 is much better than my previous N80)

    N95-8GB has IrDa……never used

I forgot the red and green button on hte N82 have a more ergonomic position, plus they leave more free space around the central joystick
on N95 I sometimes make messes with these buttons

I was considering the same pair of phones… until I saw the N96, at which point I began debating the N82 vs the N96… and then I noticed the upcoming N97 and N98!

If only the numbering of the phones would show which model is superior to which more accurately :\

Got to go with the N82. No clumsy slider, better camera, smaller phone too.

I had an N95-1 and an N95-3, before I got the N82. The N82 is light-years ahead. Who cares about the slightly smaller screen? It’s still the same resolution.

    I have a N82 and recommend it.

Pros: smaller in size, better flash for camera, slider to protect camera, same capabilities as N95

Cons: smaller screen, no dedicated keys to play music (so what), no infra-red (who still uses infra-red?)

    Thanks for your comments guys..

@ice Do you have a chance to test N82 and N95 8gb’s wi-fi and gps coverage? because Nokia phones have different wi-fi coverage

    @FackUser111; :D you’re perfect!

I’ve been using N958gb for a while and have access to N82 , I prefer N958gb due to it’s larger screen , the keypad is better on N82 my fingers does not fit on the beady buttons . Camera is better on n82 but still are you looking for pro photographs . The bottom line is price in Pakistan N958gb costs 42000 ( USD 600) while N82 costs 32000 (USD 450 ) so if USD 150 is worth the bigger screen dual slider , 8 gb ( do add costs of 6 GB extra SD cards as in Pak n82 comes with 2 gb card ) , in function both are the same .

I’ve also added an external screen on my N958gb thorugh TV Out in my car which also hooks with the N82 and my wife’s 6500 Slider along with Apple bluetooth keybard ( total expense USD 200) so get a N82 , get a bigger screen to hook it up and get an Apple or other bluetooth keyboard and you will be all set

If you are looking for a new phone just so that you are able to review all the latest apps and features, then i would suggest to skip FP1 phones and directly jump over to FP2 phone, which have started rolling out as we speak. My feeds had an entry that N78 is available in one of the stores in Finland, so you can expect the worldwide launch in a few weeks or a month.

As a blogger, you should go for the very latest as FP2 has a completely new standby screen.

So i guess that N82 or N95 would be a waste of money for the purpose you want a new phone.

i have an E65 and i’m very disappointed with the slide…soon it will be with a lot of free play…(i already know some cases)
the n95 its too big, specially for a guy that carries it on the pocket…..forget it….i use to have an 6680 and i changed it because of the size…

I vote for the N82 No doubt. besides, what you looking for, you got on the N82.

Why not consider the new N78 or the N96?

I’ll test wifi and I’ll tell you
as far as gps is concerned……driving the car there are no differences, it seems to me N82 is faster to get the gps for photos geotagging

N78 will come out with FP-2, but no accelerometer (as the admin requested)
just a led flash (the N82 is just stunning in the dark)
plus at the beginning will be more expensive as far as street price or best buy in internet is concerned

for people who think just the screen resolution matters…..
I came from a N80…same resolution as N82 or N95-8gb….but driving the car TomTom6 interface was unreadable
    TOO SMALL
    so even size matters

go for N82.. you wont regret this..
it starting to get popular as N73 .. all capabilities like N95, easy to carry .. and N95 8gb has issue with the slider.. it will loose after a while using it..

After using both Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia N82 extensively over the past few months, I highly recommend both phones but if I was buying a new one today, I’d go with Nokia N82, in black. Faster GPS, better WIFI-connections and expandable memory.

Either go for Nokia N82 or hold out for Nokia N96 when it comes in august!

Bigger screen, for sure. But maybe you want to try N95-3. You can change the card. All three of them are on the top 10 of today’s mobiles.

I’d say you go for N82. The N95 8gb is very bulky, and too much “bling-bling”. Double sliders just turns me off :-/

    N82
Pros: Xenon, Fast GPS, External MicroSD, much cheaper than 95 8gb.
Cons: Looks like a standard phone (black)good for commuters in 3rd world countries, small screen (specialy gaming),no slides (have to locked it everytime put in a pocket)

    did’t choose N95 8gb:
    - To expensive.. the price you can get a laptop these days
    - doesn’t feel and look New, since its just a 2nd edition of n95.. Doubting technology wise still the same as before.
    - no xenon flash (with n82, you won’t be worried leaving your digital camera at home) This is the most crutial for me.
