Thanks to Jon. He e-mailed me the new feature of Fring. The new version worked successfully on my phone. So let’s look inside to the new Fring;
If you don’t ever installed fring Read This Post
A little information about SIP;
“The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. These sessions include Internet telephone calls, multimedia distribution, and multimedia conferences.” It was originally designed by Henning Schulzrinne (Columbia University) and Mark Handley (UCL) starting in 1996. The latest version of the specification is RFC 3261 from the IETF SIP Working Group. In November 2000, SIP was accepted as a 3GPP signaling protocol and permanent element of the IMS architecture. It is widely used as a signaling protocol for Voice over IP, along with H.323 and others. From Wikipedia

I have a Nokia E61 with built in SIP (for which I use Gizmo SIP) and then Fring gives me my Skype support, which is excellent! I have been using Fring without any problems for several months now and I’m certainly going to continue to use it at least until Skype is released for the Symbian platform.
Could you post the binary? Fring’s install leaves much to be desired, as I have never been able to receive an SMS from them.
@ Geek.
If you have not done this already… please send an email to me and i’ll send you an SMS.
It’s that simple.
@omri
Your SMS will never get to t-mobile subscribers in the USA. A lot of people have the problem and your offer to send another SMS is useless. The solution is simple. Give up on SMS.
Yes, I am a t-mobile customer. I love their customer support, even if the call quality isn’t as nice.
Tech support sent me an actual sms from what I think was an actual phone. But I have never been able to get an sms through their online automated system.
I do like the program, but I don’t think SIP works properly with E60 and E70 v2 of the firmware. I wasn’t able to connect to gizmo anyway.
In other news, there has been a release of the v3 firmware for the Finnish variant of the e70. Could the E60 be somewhere close behind?
