When you first loaded the new update, You will notice “Share Online” section
Nokia Maps 2.0 is coming pre-installed with this update (works definitely faster)
The latest version of”N-Gage Games” is also added to new firmware;
I also noticed an improvement in slider. When you slide your phone, the screen is turning correctly. Just slide your phone.. You will see what i’m talking about
I haven’t noticed any other update yet. It’s been 10 minutes since i was updated it. Additionally There is “MyNokia” section in applications menu

Share online is just like Lifeblog all I get is VOx , have to manually add OVI and Flickr , also My Nokia section which does not work in Pakistan , why offer services if they are not for worldwide audience , nothing much changed
I updated 24 hours ago and I’ve noticed my N95-1 (RM-159) is running a little faster under v30 firmware plus there is a little extra RAM available for applications to use as they please - Handy Taskman reports that I have usually something around 28MB of free RAM available when nothing else is running, sometimes even 30MB so there is certainly an improvement there (22MB or less was the norm prior to the update). Also in relation to memory I have over 110MB of phone memory available too so the S50 installation appears to consume less space as I don’t ever recall my phone memory availability being into triple figures. The auto rotation feature is temperamental at best as sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.
Other than that… I haven’t noticed anything really different other than the UI fonts seem a little sharper than before. I wish I could uninstall N-Gage though, I love playing games on my mobile now and again but N-Gage is a horrid user experience to endure.
I just recently got my N95 and want to upgrade my firmware. But before I upgrade, does the hacks to run unsigned apps still work after this new firmware update?
It has been reported to work on the N95-1 so it should still be working on d n95 8gb
Hence we have come through various versions of Nokia mobiles people are very much keen to buy a latest version of Nokia N95 which has a 8 Gb memory and a tremendous operation style. Really it is a wonderful model

Anyway, backup did’t work for me and I have to install all apps again, but the Phone is working faster.
Is there any way to hack the alarm, becouse it plays my custom mp3 for only few seconds in very high volume level. I would like to alarm play my whole mp3 song and in customized volume level.
hey guys! 3 questions… first.. how do i check what firmware does my N95 8GB have… second… do u know if the problem with the cookies on hotmail is solved with the V30 firmware? u know, the one that says that cookies are disabled but they are really enabled and doesnt let u see your mails… and third… have any of u guys used the built-in gps for navigation after the update? if this new firmware affects the accelerometer it may affect the gps too….
the new 30. update dosen’t allow for hacked software installs.
i tried to install sec manager as well as root signing the files as i had it in v20. ne one know of any fixes ??

Hi i updated to v30 seems fine little bit faster and with the my nokia folder added, only thing bit confused about is the realplayer is surpose to play flv files?? quote if im wrong but getting the unknown format on the file and was said flv files could be used as video ringtones again not sure if im correct but this would be a great added bounus..

Just updated the firmware and the game installer doesn’t work. I try to install and the phone just freezes. I have to take out the battery then turn on again. Then it takes 5-10 to start -up again with only a white screen. I have the old games installed yet the icons do not appear. I tried to remove them from application installer and the phone freezes from that also.
PLS HELP!
I have two Nokia N95 8GB (RM-320) phones and using the Nokia Software Updater one would update and the other one didnt have the update shown ! strange
Recommend the update if you can get it

been told that the phone doesnt get the firmware update if the product code is no the correct region one - will find out how to update that now !
Hey plees help not able to find this new firmware in Nokia software updater when i put my product code.
Upgraded my N85 8GB firmware to v.30 ~ 1.5 weeks ago, so far no issue after the upgrade. Able to download all my files that I backup prior to performing the Update. Am also holding a N96 16GB and had it sent for repair 3 times within 2 weeks after purchased, problems occurred when I inserted in an additional exteranl 2GB resulting in Phone unable to refresh my music folder, unable to assign my own MP3 songs as personalized ringtone etc…Argh…,still N95 8GB the best, encountered no issue with this model so far after 1.5 years of usage.

Well it is not a big problem, but still.
Today i’ve installed the new firmware 30.0.018, and everything passed ok. But after turning off the phone, and than switching it on..it seems to be some..after nokia animation it shows the normal screen and after few seconds it goes blank (only background is shown) for about few seconds, than all is ok. Seems like it wants to start installation, but doesn’t show the progress bar. I think it could be cause of some theme file i was installing and it broke in the middle. But after that i reinstalled the firmware 3times and formatted the mass memory 3 times. So dunno what it is? Is there any way to browse installation files, even those that were broken and not installed??
Does anyone have a problem like this, or it is normal thing? Is this firmware slower? Dunno, but before it i was using a 20.0.016 and everything was ok. It’s not a big thing, but it is kinda irritating.

had the update last nite…everything works fine but the themes that i have downloaded before has become corrupted…i saved it in my phone memory…do you know any means of deleting these corrupted themes?
tried looking it up in app manager but it’s not there. it is still showing in the available themes to use in settings though.
Just installed my firmware couple of issues - Cant install google maps, garmin xt, and nimbuzz, also my Yahoo go is having some issues anyone having the same problem?

when the update was released and after i updated my phone,
i had some issues with nokia maps…the gps connections is offline at start and the when i checked i saw it’s “turn gps off” when it’s already off, and after i click it, it’s kinda get on(i have to click the button 0 so that it searches for satellite connection)…
also, when i go online in nokia maps, i chose wlan by default but it connects to data package no matter what i do, and when i deleted the data packet from my list of connections, nokia maps now say that there is no connection even when wi-fi is available!!
even if this is kinda a minor problem, it is really irritating!
is there a way to use this update if the updater does not show it as an option? the highest it goes is 20.2.005.

Obviously a bit late on the bandwagon here, hadn’t updated my firmware since I got the phone in late July.
Since installing it though, I have noticed a significant change in speed of handling pretty much everything. Where my phone used to take a few seconds to process what was happening when an application opened or I wanted to check an sms, now it’s fluent and snappy. Kudos, Nokia.
cra—d n-gage games won’t install, and other apps like quickoffice v5.

hey i have recently just updated my firmware and it has made my life a living hell, its so slow nothing good about it, none of my softwares work, can not connect to any wi-fi connections, whenever i disconnect from the usb after uploading music it takes 8 secs to install who knows what. picture n music folders dont even open sometimes so i hav to restart the phone. constantly. what a bitch software.
pls am new here but i have searched all around my phone on how to update all to no avail,pls i need help my n95 8gb never since to update no matter what i do or try it keeps bouncing back
